WHAT IS A PSYCHIATRIC NURSE?


A Psychiatric nursing is a nurse that specialises in mental health, and cares for people of all ages who are experiencing mental illnesses or distress. These include: schizophreniaschizoaffective disordermood disordersanxiety disorderspersonality disorderseating disorderssuicidal thoughtspsychosisparanoia, and self-harm.

 

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED?

 For these jobs, you will need at least five GCSEs including English, Maths and a science. Moreover, if you have two to three A levels (including science) , a level three diploma or access to higher education in health , science or nursing you will be qualified for this job.
